Priorities

Evelyn thinks that natural splendor is all very well, but a puddle to splash in is where the real entertainment is at.

Unbelievable

Every time I try to dry clothes on the line this summer, it rains. Yesterday we got home in sunny, not a cloud in the sky, hundred degree weather, and I put out the clothes. It proceeded to rain and thunder unbelievably hard while it was still sunny out! I really think I should start charging to go do laundry in drought areas.

Aquarium

Evelyn and I went with friends to the SeaLife Aquarium in Grapevine yesterday. The fish were right at her level!

Crater Lake

To continue my theme of wishing I were somewhere other than the heat of Texas, here's Crater Lake in Oregon. It's in the seventies all week there.

Cool

With temperatures near a hundred degrees, Evelyn thinks staying cool is serious business, especially with the power out for a few hours yesterday afternoon.

Okay, maybe there was some fun involved as well.

Cool

It's been in the 90s all week. Spending some time in the pool is the only reasonable response.

Arboretum

The Dallas Arboretum wasn't all pumpkins and child's tears when we visited it last Wednesday...

Luddington

We went to the lighthouse at Luddington to celebrate my birthday. Lake Michigan is wonderful!

Break

Apparently the blog is on summer break. Between getting ready to move and getting ready to visit family while doing a fair bit of temping, daily posts just aren't happening. I'll be back in a few weeks, hopefully with lots of pictures and stories!

Blustery

The wind at White Rock Lake was wonderful, given the hundred-plus degree temperatures we've been having.

Rain, rain

It has been incredibly rainy and cold yesterday and today. Not traditional late spring weather in Texas, I'm told. It's great weather for cocoa and blankets, though!

Refreshing

The Dallas Arboretum was very hot indeed. I had fun playing in the water to cool off.
