Picnic

Evelyn and I had an impromptu lunch picnic in a plaza in Southlake while running errands. She was remarkably coordinated with her blue shirt, skirt, and blueberries.

Tall Ships

Last Friday we visited the Tall Ships celebration in Bay City.

Rebecca was suitably excited.

Meanwhile, I completely failed to get a picture of Evelyn in the backpack carrier.

Summer afternoon

Evelyn and I try to go outside in the afternoon for at least a little while every day. If you stay in the shade, it's really not too bad.

The view from the shade is pretty enjoyable, especially when there's a good breeze.

Home

Just over a year ago, we moved to our house. Moving when you're almost nine months pregnant is pretty exciting, but we have loved being in more space with a yard and a park right out the back gate.

Trees

The trees in our backyard are flowering. Eventually, I should look up what kind of tree they are, but for now I'm just enjoying them.

Cool

It's been in the 90s all week. Spending some time in the pool is the only reasonable response.

Halloween

Evelyn had to go to bed before she could hand out any candy to trick-or-treaters, but she supervised the pumpkin carving before going to sleep.

Arboretum

The Dallas Arboretum wasn't all pumpkins and child's tears when we visited it last Wednesday...

Pumpkins

Yesterday, we went to the Dallas Arboretum's Fall Pumpkin Patch so Evelyn could see what fall is sort of supposed to look like. I had a great time!

Evelyn, however, was initially skeptical about taking pictures...

...and then unquestionably unimpressed.

Garden

Evelyn and I visited a nearby rose garden on Friday after dropping off dinner for a friend. While Evelyn was a not particularly impressed, I enjoyed it a great deal.

Freedom

Habibti loves looking out the window on car trips.

Rays

The setting sun the other night was actually surrounded in rays of light. I always thought that rays around the sun were just a stylized depiction, but apparently it actually happens sometimes!

Skyline

In the summer of 2013, Benjamin and I had a chance to see New York while traveling to my cousin's wedding. The skyline from the Empire State Building is pretty delightful, as advertised.

I discovered a park near my school where I can eat lunch and regroup for the afternoon. It was delightful.

I love having a usable patio now that the weather is changing!

Success-like

I went to a painting place with some friends a few months ago. My painting may have had a mass-produced quality, since everyone in the room was painting the same thing, but it was still a lot of fun to do.

Screened

Rebecca took some great pictures this weekend when we put up a screen on our patio. Now we can leave the patio doors open - just in time for fall weather!
